Extremely rare set of full nickel / silver plated Boosey & Co Bagpipes
Ferrules stamped ‘BOOSEY & Co, LONDON’
Blackwood: in good condition
Metalwork: some of the silver / nickel plating is tarnished but in keeping with the patina of the pipe
Date: circa 1920s (pre 1930 merger of Boosey &Co and Hawkes & son)
Anomalies: Bass mid pin: metal slide has been welded to the ferrule, the wooden pin is removable. Not sure if this is original or an after market repair.
Tone: Tonally a very nice bagpipe, well made, similarities in tone and tuning to Starck bagpipes I would suggest.
