Ebony with full ivory mounting (Mounts, ferrules, caps and bushes)
Pipes played at high solo level and Grade 1 previously.
Pipes were invisibly whipped by dunbar to mitigate hairline cracks (common in ebony). This is an excellent fix and negates the risk for the component going forward. Laterly the pipes have had a clean up by Hardies of Glasgow (circa 2024).
As per their history the pipes are extremely good tonally and tune in the right places, the tone produced by the ebony produces a lovely ring.
