McCullough pipes are a rare one to pass through here and this is a lovely example, albeit with some character built in, however these pipes are worth salvaging!
The pipes were bought from Northern Ireland, where McCullough did their trade. Originally trained by Glens of Edinburgh, McCullough made lovely pipes that produce a lovely tone, more bold than Glen and they also tune sharper which is ideal for todays pitch.
On purchase the pipes were missing their bass top section and the bass mid was cracked so I had exact replica’s made based on the existing parts and modelling from another set of McCullochs. The original bass mid is included in the sale.
The stocks appear to be original, however as per photos some of the button mounts protrude slightly. The ferrules have dont their job to protect the stocks from cracking however just to be sure I had the under ferrule area whipped for stability.
Superb tone and stability, these will be a fantastic addition to any piper.
